Do you try to keep baby in a cradle position when carrying her to bed?

what works best? Keeping baby in a cradle position when carrying baby to bed after feeding at night or do you put her up on your shoulder or chest for the walk to the crib?

Actually, I keep her on my shoulder because after her bottle she will burp and usually fall asleep on my shoulder.
