Babysitter Balance

Couples with kids…how do you strike a balance between spending time with the kids, and having “couple time?”

My fiance and I were supposed to go to Daytona to watch a motorcycle race on Monday. I tried my damnedest to get a babysitter, but it didn’t work out. He still wants to go, which means the kids will go also. I wanted some time alone with him…after all, we were a couple before we were parents!
I told him that if the whole family has to go, I wouldn’t go at all.
He now thinks I’m acting like a spoiled brat….I just think, “If I wanted to be stuck watching the kids all day, I could do that just as easily at home!”
Should I suck it up, and turn our “couple’s time” into family time, and put a fake smile on my face?

dont suck it up, sounds to me like you don’t get alot of couple time, and that’s crucial in a relationship. explain that to him.. i mean family time is nice and all but its also nice to have some time for yourself!
