Beco Butterfly
Advice about Ergo or Beco Butterfly carriers?
I asked this in Newborn & Baby as well – sorry for the repetition.
Which is better in your opinion? My baby is over 9 kg (about 20 lbs) and I’d like to try carrying him on my back. The internal safety harness in the Beco makes me feel more comfortable about putting baby on my back but it’s a pretty expensive item and I was wondering if anyone out there has any other input? Thanks!
Thanks for your input. Do you feel OK putting your babes on your back in the Ergo? It kind of freaks me out (my babe’s a bit wiggly and I’m afraid I’ll drop him!)
OK I’m being a pain. What I mean is do you feel OK in the actual putting the baby on your back alone without a helper not carrying the baby on your back? Carrying him on my back is OK but getting him there and in the carrier in the first place is what worries me!
I have had the Ergo for about 2 months now and love it. My son is a big boy, 15 months and 27+ pounds and I wore him around Vegas a month ago for 3-4 hours at a time and was quite pleased with it overall. Sorry, but I do not have experience with the Beco.
Edit: To be honest, I haven’t gotten my son into the carrier while on my back yet. I have needed my husband to help me. Once he is in there, I don’t give it a second thought as it feels very snug and secure.
