Bouncer Jumper
Annoyed with seperation anxiety? 7 month old…?
I don’t mean to be, but I’m tired, hungry, and I generally have to hold off from going to the bathroom or taking a shower until 3pm. I’m pregnant, so we’re both too big to sling anymore. He’s such a good boy, but all he wants lately is to sit in my lap and play, or be held constantly. He won’t sit in his walker, bouncer, jumper, saucer, or highchair unless I’m touching him the entire time. Sometimes he even wakes up in the middle of the night so I put him in my bed. I know he needs a break from me too, because the second anyone else he knows comes in his view, he’ll whine to go to them. I try really hard to act as if it doesn’t bother me. I don’t want him to get the feeling that I’m annoyed with this stage, because I don’t want him to think I’m annoyed at him. Can you help? Any friendly tips on how to not be annoyed?
We do co-sleep if he needs to, but he kicks a lot, and wakes up crying for me until he realizes I’m already there…
There’s a hump you have to get over to go from being annoyed to accepting that you are the world to your son.
Step away and go to the bathroom or grab food if you have to. It’s not neglectful to let him cry in a safe area for a couple minutes while you’re taking care of yourself. Just get back to him as soon as you can.
I’m sure you’re tired from the pregnancy too (congrats!), but you’d probably feel much more well rested if you co-slept. Research it a bit; it’s not this evil, baby-spoiling, dangerous sleeping method that a lot of people make it out to be.

Oh & the shower thing- have you considered bathing with him? I don’t know how far along you are, but it might be easiest for you to get a bath ring & a shower attachment to rinse yourself off.
