Boys Girls
Does it seem wrong to you to set different rules for boys & girls for things like piercing ears?
A couple of weeks ago my 5 year old girl had her ears pierced. It was something she’d wanted to do for over a year.
My 7 year old boy has decided he wants both his ears pierced now too. I’ve told him no, almost all girls/women get theirs done sooner or later, it looks cute. For boys it looks “badass gangsta” so no.
I do not see any difference between boys and girls as far as ear piercing is concerned. I also think both little boys and little girls look cute with earrings. Both my son and my daughter have their ears double pierced and wear earrings all the time. Many are souvenirs from places they have visited. There are some styles of earrings I would not allow either of my children to wear because they do make them look “gangsta.” Just remember, all jewelry should be an attractive accessory and not the main attraction.
