What colors shoes do I wear?

I am going to an evening retirement party. I am wearing a navy blue and white suit. The pants are navy blue the blouse is navy blue and the jacket is white with navy trim. The jacket has a tie belt that’s white with navy trim. I bought a pair of white patent leather sling backs. Not sure if I should where white or black. I need help from you fashion diva’s. Please.

Wear navy pumps for a classy look. Do NOT wear white pumps with navy and white – it cheapens the look. Whoever the person was that said white is for after Memorial Day is wrong – white is traditionally for between Easter and Labor day. However, there is no better look than a winter white suit in December.
