First Years
What would happen to a child that lived alone for the first 30 years of their life?
With robots trained to only feed them as infants and toddlers, and academically educate them for the first 18 years of their life and then left them? The child would be incredibly intelligent, mind you…right? and what would it be like to MEET them? Would they talk like normal beings? or be completely crazy, and inhuman? Would they be dangerous to be with alone? Would you be scared of them?
The infant & toddler years are the most important, actually. If a child’s only most basic needs (food, water, sleep, exercise) are being met during this time & they are not nurtured, touched, loved, talked to, their brain becomes stunted in it’s growth. Any academic education after that would be limited in the way a child can process that information & apply it to real life. I would be curious to meet someone raised in this environment, but I certainly wouldn’t wish it on anyone. This person may be able to learn certain academic lessons, but they would have no emotional intelligence, which is AT LEAST equally important, and in my view, a thousand times more valuable. Interesting question!
