moving baby to own bed?
I’m in dire need of help. Our baby is 4 months old & we’ve had his bassinet in our room since he came home from hospital but most nights he refused to sleep in it & ended up in our own bed. As much as we didn’t want to co-sleep, we needed sleep or would go nuts but now he’s getting bigger, it’s so uncomfortable for all of us. So we spent a fortune on a deluxe portacot which is a smaller version & is next to my side of the bed (mummy’s side). It has a raised bassinet so I thought brilliant, it will almost seem like he’s next to me in bed anyway but he’s not adjusting to it & still screams until he goes back to bed with us. We’ve tried moving him into it in a deep sleep, rolling over & patting or rocking him to sleep, the deluxe portacot even has a vibration & musical thing. He has a cot in his nursery which we also tried but that was no go with baby. Help!
You have to let him cry till he falls sleep in his own bed. The first night will be a nightmare but then it will get better and sooner than you think he will be sleeping alone. If you are going to change him to his own bed you change him to his own room too.
