Is it worth it to send my son to nursery?
my son is nearly 2 and my girlfriend wants to send him to nursery next year. The nursery is close to our house but cost £45 a day. My girlfriend is not working but hopes to find a job if we can send him to nursery but i feel she wont be able to earn enougth to make it finacial sense. She takes him to our local libery and sure start centre so he mixes with other kids im just wondering what he may miss at nursery
if you cant afford it and your gf stays home. and you only have the one child. he shouldnt go then. my son was 27 months and i sent him twice a week… i enrolled him in january because i felt he was really bored. we went to the library also.. we also went to parks… it was just not enough for him. But my time was taken up with a young 2nd child. so i put him in the two days and he liked it and it was a two and half hour break for me.
a child that is just two doesnt need to be put in a school. 45 pounds a day? is this for a full day?! if you could do part time that might be nice for him. you can teach a child anything that they do in nursery school… you can paint with them, you can do crafts, you can read new books, and sing new songs… but will you? thats another story.
My son learnt alot of good things in nursery school and it was nice to see him interacting and learning from another person besides me and his dad!
