Revolving Bookcase

How do you use the new sims 2 apartment life revolving bookcase?

I put it on the wall but for some reason my sim wont go through the revolving bookcase.

They won’t use the revolving bookcase as a door unless you tell them to read the Mysteriously Mysterious Mystery Book. They will not read it by themselves (without you instruct them).
