What stroller should I get for my son. Do they make those with huge wheels that are not ugly?
My son is still in his infant car seat and matching stroller. When he is out of that, I want to get him a nice stoller with big wheels becuase I hear that they ride SO nice and go over hills and pebbles and such easier?? The ones with 3 wheels kidna look weird (although the JEEP one seems ok). I also want a huge basket under it. A snack tray for him. And beverage holders for me. Also to fold up rather small.. Any recommendations?
Define “small!”
The ‘big wheels that handle bumps well’ means you want a jogger stroller, and I don’t blame you! I picked out a different one (can’t remember what now) for my baby registry, but we were given a Jeep® Overland Limited Jogging Stroller. (the second one – http://www.jeepworld.com/merchandise/jeepstrollers.htm ) We really like it. The one thing I regret is that it doesn’t have a handbrake, which would be really handy because of all the hills in the area, and how difficult it is to go down them when the stroller is trying to fly away. (If you’re handy like my b/f you can rig up a handbrake by taking apart a mountain bike…he’s doing that now…otherwise, I’d suggest getting a stroller with one, or avoiding hills.)
If you live in a hilly area, it’s worth the extra $ to get one with a hand brake, but if not…the 2 side “saddle bags” each hold 10 pounds and the under basket holds 30 pounds. The steering wheel accessory that clips over the kids snack tray (but not over the drinks!) takes batteries for sound effects, and is really cute, and fits easy into the basket when not being used.
The top part has 2 speakers that hook up to an mp3 player, tape deck, or cd player, so you can play music out loud while you walk/run and can still hear your child (or you can play kids tunes to keep them happy). It also holds 2 drinks for parents, 1 on either side of the speakers, but it’s only big enough to hold soda cans or small (poland spring size) water bottles. Regular size waters/soda bottles don’t fit, so I usually toss those in the basket too.
It’s a good stroller, and those are all of my complaints with it, but my praise could go on for hours!
